Color in the Kitchen

We’ve been getting a lot of positive feedback from our recent kitchen remodel that features a gorgeous dusty blue cabinet color. While most people stay on the safe side when designing their kitchens, we think that this is the perfect place to add an unexpected punch of color.

Painted cabinets are becoming a more popular choice over the traditional wood grain look – and we are all for it! Here are a couple examples of how a colorful kitchen can add drama to your home and give your cabinets a more custom look.

This emerald green kitchen was designed for Cameron Diaz’s Manhattan apartment. It’s a great example of how to use color on your cabinets. While the color is certainly a contrast from the average kitchen, it’s not overwhelmingly bright. The use of brass for the counters, backsplash, and cabinet hardware is a great complement to the emerald green and creates a luxurious looking space. This rich gem tone makes a refined statement and proves just how beautiful color in the kitchen can be!

We also like the idea of using black cabinetry in your kitchen. Black exudes sophistication in both the fashion and design worlds and makes for stunning painted cabinets. This fabulous space exemplifies how stylish a black kitchen can be. This design is an excellent example of how black cabinetry doesn’t necessarily mean a dark feeling space. The light walls, countertops, backsplash and floors contrast all the black, and create a kitchen that’s bright and inviting.

So when it comes time to choose your cabinet finish, don’t be afraid to pick color!
