In the spirit of the Sochi Winter Olympics, I decided to celebrate some of the amazing Interior Designers around the world and their noteworthy projects. Here are a few great designers and projects from Russia, Japan, USA, Sweden, Canada, and France of which are truly deserving of a gold medal!
Russia: Geometry Design
Geometry Design is an Interior Design company established in Moscow, Russia. While the majority of their projects are in the hospitality industry, mostly restaurants, they also have residential and corporate design clientele. The restaurant below was designed by Geometry Design.
Oki Sato started Nendo in 2002 and has since opened design offices in Singapore and Milan. This award winning firm has projects all over the world including New York City, London, and Paris. Below is Nendo’s design of the luxury brand Theory’s Tokyo boutique.
USA: Peter Marino
Peter Marino bases his practice out of New York City but his designs can be seen all over the globe. He is most known for his designs in the luxury brand market including Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Barneys, Dior, and more. The design below is the Chanel store in Soho, New York.
Sweden: Note Design Studio
Note Design Studio is based in Stockholm, Sweden and was founded in 2008. In addition to Interior Design, Note also does graphic design, product design, and architectural projects. The following images are of Note’s design of Cafe Foam in Stockholm.
Canada: Yabu Pushelberg
Partners George Yabu and Glenn Pushelberg run this award-winning design firm located in Toronto, Canada. Yabu Pushelberg specializes in luxury design whether it be hotels, restaurants, retail stores or residences. Below is the 5-star Hazelton Hotel in Toronto.
France: Architecture & Associés
This international firm in Paris, France is owned by Pierre Beucler and Jean Christophe Poggiol. Their designs range from high-end boutiques to museums located all over the world. The project below is the Viktor & Rolf Flagship Store in Paris.
